Apple Invents Under-Display Sensors that could one-day Eliminate the iPhone Notch

Apple INVENTS Under-Display Touch ID System.

Apple’s patent covers optical sensing, and more precisely, under-displaying optical sensing.

If an optical sensor is located under a light-emitting monitor, there is no need to reserve a portion of the monitor surface of the device for the optical sensor, and the display size of the device can be increased.

The sensor(s) may include a heat sensor, a location sensor, a light or optical sensor, an accelerometer, a pressure transducer, a gyroscope, a magnetometer, and so on.
